On Friday we had a number of events going on starting with an open day in our co-working space, then we threw wet sponges at each other for Red Nose Day and finally we hosted a beer, pizza and pitching session. Safe to say we were pretty tired, wet and happy by the end of the day.
Our Co-working space open day was a trial and we decided that it was so much fun that we will be making it a monthly feature at The Innovation Centres, a big thanks to Meg Lewis from Sheffield Science Gateway and Sam Deakin from University of Sheffield Enterprise for coming down. The next chance to come get involved will be on Friday 10th April and you can sign up via this Google Form!
We only had one pitch this month, it was from Mihaela Gruia who is developing a business helping academics to format and visualise their research. We will keep you updated with her project as it progresses as we are intrigued to see how it develops, we are particularly interested in businesses that engages with research so we are really glad she found us and had a chance to meet with some of our partner companies.
Now for Red Nose Day… we love a charity event at The Innovation Centres, we have had everything from bake sales to football matches in the last few years. For Red Nose Day though we decided to go all out and to throw some wet sponges at each other...
